Explore the east side of Madeira, a region rich in history and stunning landscapes. The adventure begins at Ponta de São Lourenço, where volcanic cliffs and panoramic views define the 8 km trail leading to Cais do Sardinha, perfect for a refreshing swim.
In Machico, the island’s first capital, discover the history of the first navigators and also Pico do Facho, known for its views and the Festa dos Fachos, which celebrates local culture with bonfires and processions. Machico is just a place to pass through.
The journey continues to Porto da Cruz, a coastal village with black sand beaches and Engenhos do Norte, where rum is still produced.
From the Guindaste Viewpoint in Faial, enjoy impressive views over the ocean and Ponta de São Lourenço.
Santana enchants with its traditional thatched-roof houses and the majestic Laurissilva Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
In Ribeiro Frio, trails through the Laurissilva forest and a trout hatchery complete the experience. You can also take the short walk to the Balcões viewpoint, offering incredible views over the valleys.
Finish the excursion at Pico do Areeiro, one of Madeira's highest points.
